Sena UBT says society residents didn’t allow them to campaign | Mumbai News
Shiv Sena (UBT) workers alleged that they were not allowed to campaign for the Lok Sabha polls by the residents of a building in Ghatkopar Sunday.
According to Sena UBT workers, the residents of Samarpan building at Maniklal area in Ghatkopar told them that they will not allow Marathi people to conduct campaigning in the building premises.
“As soon as the party workers reached the gate of the building, the residents stopped them from entering the building. The residents told us that they will not allow Marathi people to conduct campaigning inside the building premises,” said Pradeep Mandavkar, a shakha pramukh of Sena UBT from Ghatkopar.
The party workers were campaigning for Mumbai North East candidate Sanjay Dina Patil. A video of the incident has also surfaced on social media.
The office bearers of the Sena (UBT) said that late on Sunday, the party workers were in Ghatkopar to distribute pamphlets as well as to campaign and promote their candidate.
The issue was resolved after the local police intervened and two of the Sena UBT workers were allowed to step inside and distribute the pamphlets to the residents.
