Shalini Passi shares her parenting philosophy
According to Shalini, everyone has different parenting philosophies. Therefore, she did what she believed was best for her child. She related how she once told her son that while people would commend him for his positive deeds, she would be held accountable for her failure to provide him with correct instruction if he did something bad. He would be commended for his good deeds, but she would be held accountable for any errors, she said, adding that she hoped he would never want anyone to accuse his mother of teaching him evil things. In her words:
“I think everybody has different notions on parenting. I did what I thought was the best. I told my son when he was growing up once, I said if you do good things, everyone will say, my god, Robin is such a good boy; he was very little. And I said, you know what, if you do bad things, everyone will say ki maa ne kuch nahi sikhaya, and I was like, you know, I hope you don’t want people to say that I taught you bad things, because all the credit for all the good things you will get, but the credit, the flag for anything you do wrong in your life, I will get.”

“Something happened, and this person is really annoying me, so he said oh my god, that person is gonna get destroyed. So it’s like if I pick out weapons, I will annihilate. If I don’t, I don’t, so that’s Robin. That was actually Robin’s line which he refused to say.”
