South – Bollywood actress Shanthi Priya has made a dashing return to the silver screen, nearly three decades after staying away from the limelight. She will soon be seen as a quintessential Indian mother in the upcoming Tamil drama Bad Girl co-starring Anjali Sivaraman. The actress has joined the team which is currently gearing up to attend its special screening at the prestigious Rotterdam Film Festival under the esteemed Tiger Competition category. This screening is quite special for the cast and crew of Bad Girl as it stands as the only Indian film in the competition this year.

Walking the red carpet in Rotterdam, Shanthi Priya wasn’t just celebrating the film’s international recognition—she was embracing a personal and professional triumph. The festival proved to be a stage for her to reintroduce herself to the world.
Ahead of the red carpet entrance, the actress had taken to the social media platform where she had shared her excitement of being a part of the 54th International Film Festival Rotterdam by posting a GRWM video.
Speaking of Shanthi Priya’s journey, after captivating audiences in the 90s with her performances in South and Bollywood films, the actress decided to take a step back from the industry but has made a rare comeback to movies after 30 years. As Bad Girl earns international acclaim, this is only the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Shanthi Priya.
Coming to Bad Girl, directed by Varsha Bharath, the film follows the journey of a Brahmin girl named Ramya through high school and college, then out into the wider world, as her dream of finding the perfect guy is obstructed by societal mores, strict parents, unrequited love and the untrammelled chaos of her own mind. Starring Anjali Sivaraman in the lead role, the film features an ensemble cast and is produced by Anurag Kashyap and Vetrimaaran.
