Shruti Haasan, known for her dynamic performances and love for South Indian cinema, recently took to social media to drop an appreciation post which she dedicated to the recently released Tamil film Lubber Pandhu. While the film released in September 2024, it seems that the actress recently came across the entertainer during her free time and decided to catch up on the same. The movie, apparently left her so excited, that she decided to share a sweet review for the same on her social media handle.

Taking to her Instagram story, Shruti posted the film’s poster and also shared her love for the same with her fans on the platform, as she opened up about the movie saying, “Watched this last night and it was so fun and so (teary-eyed emoji),” capturing both her joy and sentiment for the film. Shruti has long been vocal about her support for fresh and impactful South Indian cinema, frequently recommending films from the industry to her fans. Her shoutout to Lubber Pandhu is just the latest example of her enthusiasm for regional films that bring something unique to the table.
Speaking about Lubber Pandu, set against the rural backdrop, the film explores gully cricket stars Gethu and Anbu’s intense rivalry which escalates when the latter falls in love with Gethu’s daughter, leading to their skills and emotions are put to the ultimate test. Starring Gethu Dinesh and Harish Kalyan in the lead roles, the film also has Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Swasika, Bala Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, Geetha Kailasam, Devadarshini, TSK, Jenson Diwakar and Pradeep Durairaj in key supporting roles.
As for Shruti Haasan, fans are eagerly awaiting her next big release, Coolie, where she stars alongside Rajnikanth and Nagarjuna. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film features an ensemble cast and is slated to release next year in multiple languages.
