Sushmita Sen Reveals A Major Twist In Her Life, Talks About Her Heart Attack, ‘My Story Was Over..’
Sushmita Sen rose to prominence after she won the Miss Universe pageant in 1994. Since then, the bong diva has enchanted her fans with her beauty and charming personality, as well as with her eloquent speech and candid point of view. Recently, the model-turned-actress surprised everyone with her updated bio on Instagram, where she mentioned her ‘second date of birth.’

Now, Sushmita has finally revealed the story behind her second date of birth. In a video that was shared on her Instagram feed in collaboration with Sun Pharma, the actress narrated the story behind her massive heart attack, which she suffered during her shoot. She shared that those were the longest 45 minutes of her life, and she even thought that her story was over. Sushmita said:
“My life is a story, and I have played and lived it. There was a major twist in my life story sometime back. The point was when I suffered a massive heart attack. They were the longest 45 minutes of my life. There was a moment when I thought my story was over.”

In the same video, she thanked her doctors for saving her life, and she mentioned that they gave her a second chance at life on February 27, 2023. Sushmita has updated her IG bio with the same date as a tribute to the day that changed her life completely. Hence, on the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, Sushmita dedicated her gratitude towards her doctors by starting the initiative “Second Birth Date.” The actress said:
“But thanks to my doctors, they are the reason my story is still on. They didn’t give up on me and didn’t let me give up. They wrote a new story for my life and gave me a new direction. That was my second birthday. I am dedicating that day and my story to all the doctors. Today is a day of gratitude. My doctors have given me a second chance at life, and I want to thank them from the top, middle, and bottom of my heart.”

When Sushmita Sen confirmed that she suffered a massive heart attack
For those unversed, Sushmita suffered a massive cardiac arrest while she was shooting for the web series, Aarya, in Jaipur. Back in March 2023, the actress took to her Instagram account to confirm that she underwent angioplasty and a stent was placed in her heart. She also wittily remarked that her doctor told her that she has a “big heart.” Her note can be read as:
“‘Keep your heart happy & courageous, and it’ll stand by you when you need it the most, Shona’ (Wise words by my father @sensubir ). I suffered a heart attack a couple of days back…Angioplasty done…stent in place…and most importantly, my cardiologist reconfirmed ‘I do have a big heart’. Lots of people to thank for their timely aid & constructive action…will do so in another post! This post is just to keep you (my well-wishers & loved ones) informed of the good news …that all is well & I am ready for some life again!!! I love you guys beyond!!!!”
