Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin Announces Rs 2,000 Cyclone Relief for Affected Families
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin announced Rs 2,000 relief for families in Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Kallakurichi districts hit hard by Cyclone Fengal and heavy rains.
Relief assistance will be extended to rain-hit districts, including Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Thiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri. Families who lost loved ones will receive Rs 5 lakh compensation.
Damaged huts will receive Rs 10,000, and priority will be given to rebuilding under the Kalaignar Kanavu Illam scheme. Farmers will get Rs 17,000 per hectare for damaged paddy crops and Rs 22,500 for perennial crops.
Compensation includes Rs 8,500 per hectare for rain-fed crops, Rs 37,500 for lost cattle, Rs 4,000 for goats and sheep, and Rs 100 for chicken.
Special camps will be set up in rain-affected areas to issue lost or damaged documents, including voter IDs and certificates.
Affected students will receive replacement textbooks and notebooks.
CM MK Stalin visited Chengalpattu and Villupuram to assess the damage and oversee relief efforts, while Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin and other ministers supervised work in different districts.
