Thane Woman Travels To Pakistan Using Forged Documents, Fake Name; Booked
Police in Thane city of Maharashtra have booked a 23-year-old woman for allegedly using a fake name and forged documents to travel to Pakistan.
Thane Fake Passport case: A 23-year-old woman has been booked by the police in Thane city of Maharashtra for allegedly travelling to Pakistan under a fake name and using forged documents to obtain a passport and visa. According to officials, the accused, identified as Nagma Noor Maksood Ali alias Sanam Khan, obtained a ‘fake’ passport and visa using falsified documents and travelled to the neighbouring country under a falsified identity.
“The accused changed her name and obtained an Aadhaar card, PAN card and her daughter’s birth certificate from a centre in Lokmanya Nagar and then attached these documents to the passport application,” said an official at the Vartak Nagar police station.
He said that based on these fake documents, the woman obtained a passport and visa for Pakistan and travelled to the neighbouring country, adding that a case has also been filed against an unidentified man who facilitated her falsified documents.
The case against the accused duo was registered under the Indian Passports Act and others, he added.
The offence took place between May 2023 and 2024, the official said, a probe into the crime was underway.
