The Vitamin Shoppe expands telehealth offering with testosterone replacement therapy
New Jersey-based nutritional supplements supplier The Vitamin Shoppe announced it is expanding its recently launched Whole Health Rx telehealth service offerings by collaborating with Marius Pharmaceuticals to provide men with low or no testosterone access to Kyzatrex CII capsules.
Whole Health Rx allows users to obtain online medical assessments and access GLP-1s, nutritional support, educational resources and guidance on lifestyle practices.
The platform is powered by WellSync, which customizes virtual care platforms to a company’s needs.
FDA-approved Kyzatrex CII capsules are an oral testosterone replacement therapy that aims to help men with certain medical conditions reach the expected levels of testosterone. Through the partnership, Whole Health Rx patients will be able to receive a prescription for the FDA-approved medication.
“Men’s health and testosterone support has been a category of growing interest to our customers, so we’re especially pleased to now offer the highly effective and easy-to-use Kyzatrex prescription medication to Whole Health Rx patients who can benefit from TRT [total replacement therapy].” Lee Wright, CEO of The Vitamin Shoppe, said in a statement.
“Our mission is to grow Whole Health Rx into a full-service health solution provider that can meet more of our customers’ wellness needs, building on our strategic partnership with WellSync’s innovative telehealth platform and expert network of healthcare professionals and pharmacies. As a pioneer in the wellness space since 1977, The Vitamin Shoppe is uniquely positioned to unite pharmaceutical interventions, such as TRT, with our unmatched expertise in nutrition support and whole-body health.”
THE LARGER TREND
The Vitamin Shoppe launched its telehealth service. It initially focused on connecting users with providers to help them access GLP-1 medications for weight management.
Another digital health company offering males access to low testosterone therapies is Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company (MCCPDC).
Last year, MCCPDC announced a partnership with male fertility and sexual healthcare company Posterity Health to provide males access to medications to treat infertility, sexual dysfunction and low testosterone.
Posterity Health is a digital male fertility clinic providing access to reproductive urologists who diagnose and treat sexual health and male fertility issues. The company offers sperm cryopreservation, in-clinic or in-home fertility testing, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal.
