Vicky Kaushal looks fierce as Parashurama in first look poster
Amar Kaushik’s upcoming mythological film, Mahavatar, will star actor Vicky Kaushal. The makers posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday.
The two pictures revealed a unique and intriguing look for Vicky in the movie, which was also shared with a short video. In the movie, Vicky appears with long hair and a beard, a departure from his usual on-screen appearance. In the posters, he is portrayed with an axe in his hand and only a dhoti, facing forward with a ferocious face, adding to the mystery and intrigue surrounding his character.
The banner behind the movie is Maddock Films, produced by Dinesh Vijan. Vicky will portray Chiranjeevi Parashurama, the “Eternal Warrior of Dharma.” Mahavatar is not just a film, but a grand cinematic event, set to be released in theaters on the auspicious occasion of Christmas 2026. Maddock shared a first-look poster of Vicky and the project on its social media accounts, adding to the grandeur of the announcement.
The caption stated, “Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas—Christmas 2026!”
In addition, Vicky will play the lead in Maddock’s upcoming historical drama, Chhaava. In the film, scheduled for release on December 6, Vicky will portray Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the Maratha emperor. Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna will also be featured in the upcoming movie. Vijan is the producer, and Laxman Utekar is the director.
