Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has taken a dig at singer Jasleen Royal for her performance at Coldplay’s Mumbai concert, held at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21. Jasleen, the first Indian artist to open for the British band, has faced backlash from both concertgoers and industry peers.

Sharing a video of her performance on his official X account, Agnihotri remarked, “The audience is more surreal than these auto-tuned, Instagram-generated singers.” He further questioned if she would have been selected based on talent rather than her social media following.

Industry Reactions to Jasleen Royal’s Performance at Coldplay Concert
Jasleen Royal’s opening act has sparked mixed reactions.
