WeightWatchers partners with Personify Health for B2B weight health offering

WeightWatchers announced its partnership with Personify Health to allow employers to offer the company’s business solutions to help employees access weight-related healthcare offerings, including behavioral health, medication management and virtual care. 

WeightWatchers for Business offers programs focused on changing behavior, including programs tailored for individuals with diabetes or those on GLP-1 medications. The company also offers virtual clinical care and medication management, community forums, coaching support, and health data and analytics. 

Personify Health, which is the result of a $3 billion merger between Virgin Pulse’s employee-wellness and engagement company and HealthComp’s health plan-administration organization, offers one platform with health, navigation, benefits and wellbeing experiences, alongside data-driven personalization. 

Companies using Personify Health will have the option to offer their employees WeightWatchers for Business to access the weight health company’s B2B offerings.

THE LARGER TREND 

Virgin Pulse and HealthComp rebranded as Personify Health in February combining the companies offerings. 

The number of digital health companies offering platforms focused on GLP-1 medications has increased this year. 

Last month, food and nutrition app MyFitnessPal launched new offerings and content to help members taking GLP-1s maximize their nutrient intake while gaining access to recipes, community forums and medication tracking. 

In January, digital weight loss company Noom announced its commercial business, Noom for Work, would partner with Liviniti, a national pharmacy benefit manager. Together, the pair would offer plan sponsors and their employees a digital GLP-1 Companion for chronic weight conditions.

Investors also see the promise of GLP-1s in making an impact on patient weight loss, including Andreesseen Horowitz investment partner Jay Rughani whom spoke to MobiHealthNews on the subject in December and managing director at General Catalyst Holly Maloney who joined the publication to discuss the rise in adoption of GLP-1s in January.
