Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala are making headlines after they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on December 4, 2024. Ever since the couple got married, pictures and videos from the ceremony have been making rounds on social media. Dressed in traditional attires, Chaitanya and Sobhita looked stunning.
Reports of Sobhita and Chaitanya’s dating rumours had been doing the rounds for some time, but the celeb couple didn’t react to the news. However, it was Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, who announced the news of the actor’s engagement to Sobhita. In the pictures shared by Sobhita’s sister, Samanta, we also got a glimpse of Chaitanya’s mother, Lakshmi Daggubati.

Who is Naga Chaitanya’s mother, Lakshmi Daggubati?
An interior designer, Lakshmi Daggubati is the daughter of popular filmmaker, Daggubati Ramanaidu. He founded Suresh Productions in 1964, under which several Telugu, Tamil and Hindi movies were made. She is the sister of veteran Telugu actor, Venkatesh and producer, Daggubati Suresh Babu. Actor Rana Daggubati is her nephew.
Lakshmi Daggubati’s marriage and divorce from Nagarjuna
Lakshmi Daggubati married Nagarjuna in 1984, and the couple embraced parenthood in 1986 with the arrival of Naga Chaitanya. However, Lakshmi and Nagarjuna’s marriage was short-lived, as the duo divorced in 1990.
In 1992, Nagarjuna married actress Amala, and the couple has a son, Akhil Akkineni. Later, Lakshmi remarried a businessman named Sharath Vijayaraghavan, a corporate executive of Sundaram Motors, and settled in the USA with him. Lakshmi has also started her own company called Lakshmi Interiors.
It is believed that when Lakshmi decided to get married for the second time, Chaitanya was not in favour of it. Hence, the actor distanced himself from her. However, Chaitanya denied the same and said that because of his work, he lives in Hyderabad but visits his mother occasionally whenever he travels to the US.
Samantha’s bond with the Daggubati family
The Daggubati family is also one of the biggest names in Tollywood. When Naga Chaitanya married Samantha Ruth Prabhu in 2017, the family welcomed Samantha with open arms. Even after Chaitanya and Samantha’s separation in 2021, many members of the Daggubati family still follow Samantha on social media and like her posts.
However, the same is not the case with Sobhita Dhulipala. Many members of the Daggubati family, like Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, and Malvika Daggubati, don’t follow Sobhita on social media. On the other hand, actor Rana Daggubati shares a very warm bond with Samantha, and we have often witnessed their camaraderie.
During the IIFA Utsavam in 2024, Rana and Samantha’s fun banter caught everyone’s attention. After receiving the award, Rana cracked a personal joke about the actress. Since Samantha was married to Chaitanya, she was Rana’s sister-in-law. Cracking a joke on the same lines, he said:
